"Sisterhood" by Nikki Brooks
Was a piece originally based around my mother and my aunts. I was looking at their relationships to one another, and nurturing relationships with me. I soon learn that the message of sisterhood transcending my gaze of my family of strong black women, but it touch all sisterly relationships. Till this day it is one of my proudest artworks when looking at black joy and relationships amongst family.

Meet the Artist: Nikki Brooks
Nikki is a Maryland based artist, born in Brooklyn and raised in Spotsylvania County Virginia. She received her M.F.A. from Maryland Institute College of Art, class of 2019. She is also an art teacher with 17 years' experience and currently works for Prince George's County Public Schools.
